From the Team:
"The Mongolia Charity Rally is organised by the
charity Go Help and all proceeds from the rally go to helping people in
Mongolia.
We will be raising money for Save the Children in Mongolia and
Marie Curie Cancer Care in this country. They are both fantastic causes
so please donate generously. Our journey will take us across 10
countries, covering around 10,000 miles before reaching the destination
of
Ulaanbaatar about a month after departure.
Our
route is taking us from Sheffield across the channel into France,
south into Italy and then east into Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania
and then Ukraine. We then enter Russia and head for Volgograd. The next
country is Kazakhstan and we will aim for Almaty, the
former capital. After Kazakhstan, we head back into Russia before
entering our final country, Mongolia. For most
of the journey we will be driving on dirt roads in a two wheel drive van
laden with kit. Once on the road, we will be sending live updates to the
rally website, which has a link at the top of the page so you can track
our progress. We can't wait to take on this massive challenge but we
really need your support so please get in touch or donate to one of the
charities."
The team are made up of two students from Sheffield University, both studying politics.
They will be graduating this summer before embarking on the adventure. Angus
lives in Dorset and Tim is from Norfolk.
